Hidden River Venture is a New Beginnings unit of Resources for Human Development. Classes are held in the Norristown Arts Building for small groups of children ages 6-10. The children learn about nature, especially near the Schuylkill River, which they often visit at Riverfront Park in Norristown, which is an easy walk from the Arts Building. Then, back in studio 11, they create art projects that often relate to their nature
studies. Sometimes school groups visit studio 11, and Hidden River Venture also has a traveling program for schools and other community organizations.

For the Artistic Kids site, the children from Hidden River Venture created animals out of paper mache. They had first studied animals that live in Pennsylvania, but some of their own creations are fanciful and not at all of local creatures. Some of the children included watercolors they had painted as a background for their animal. They had a lot of fun with this project!

Hidden River Venture: classes are held in studio 11 of the Norristown Arts Building, which is located at 619 W. Washington Ave. in Norristown. The Arts Building is very near Riverfont Park at the end of Haws Ave. and the bike path that goes from Philadelphia to Valley Forge.
