BIOGRAPHY: Mamta Baruah Herland is a painter and digital artist, with studies in visual arts at Sydney College of Arts, Australia, Graphic Design in Oslo, Norway and MA Fine Art Painting at Winchester School of Art, university of Southampton, England.
Mamta has written and published the thesis, “The impact of Giclée. A shift towards digital print in future art” and “Internet & World Wide Web Consequences @ Fine Art” (available at www.mamtaart.com in the article section). She has participated in exhibitions in several countries, among them galleries in New York, London and Madrid. She is invited to the Florence International Biennale 2005.

STATEMENT: It has always been my interest to make art that invokes emotion and contemplation of life and nature, through creating unique experiences as being in a state in between reality and dream, and rationality and magic. The manipulated skyscapes, images from nature, abstractions and portraiture are juxtaposed with a lyrical and surrealistic effect, and yet creating a sense of spirituality and harmony. I like my work to expand in different possible artistic dimensions and genre that further combine the aesthetics of technology with a sense of spirituality and transcendental emotion. |
